COVID-19 POLICY

# COVID-19 SAFETY

Limited

  • There will be limited on-site attendance for both Friday and Saturday events. This will allow attendees to move freely in the space and maintain social distancing protocols. 

Masks

  • Face masks will be required to enter the venue. Masks must be worn at all times inside of the building and must cover your mouth and nose. Attendees who do not properly wear their masks will be asked to leave after receiving a verbal warning. No refunds will be issued for not following rules.

Sanitize

  • Sanitizing stations and resources will be provided across the convention site. The Esports lounge and HNICon staff will sanitize each room between all events. There will be regular cleaning of equipment and surfaces.

Distance

  • Social distancing protocols will be enforced onsite. All gaming stations, vendor booths, and chairs will be spaced 6 feet apart. Attendees must maintain at least 6 feet of from individuals not within the same household.

# COVID-19 PREVENTION POLICY

As we adapt to a Covid-19 world, we continue to strive to protect and prioritize the safety and health of all our participants (attendees, staff, guests, exhibitors, and volunteers). We will be following the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations, the Esports lounge's policies, and industry best practices to ensure a clean and safe environment.

We have implemented the following health and safety procedures:

​

  • Limited onsite attendance cap. This limit will be less than half of past years’ total attendance. Virtual events will also take place.

  • There will be no onsite registration allowed for both Friday and Saturday events. All tickets must be pre-purchased to maintain attendance capacity. Pre-registered attendees only. 

  • Face masks MUST be worn to enter the Esports lounge and throughout the entire building at all times (even if you are outside of the convention area). Masks must properly cover the nose and mouth.

  • Sanitization stations and resources will be provided across the convention site.

  • The Esports lounge and HNICon staff will sanitize each room between all events. There will be regular cleaning of equipment and surfaces.

  • Social distancing protocols will be enforced on-site 

  • All gaming stations, vendor booths, and chairs will be spaced 6 feet apart. Attendees must maintain at least 6 feet of separation from individuals not within the same household.

  • Vendors are encouraged to utilize cashless payment options (Tap to Pay, CashApp, Paypal, etc) to avoid contact.

# COVID-19 WARNING

We have taken great health and safety measures to protect our guests, volunteers, and staff. Please adhere to all posted instructions and policies while attending HNICon.

​

Per the CDC: “Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory illness that can spread from person to person. There is no way to ensure zero risks of infection. The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. In general, the more closely you interact with others and the longer that interaction, the higher the risk of COVID-19 spread. If you decide to engage in public activities, continue to protect yourself by practicing everyday preventive actions.” Additionally, the CDC states that, “older adults and people who have severe underlying medical conditions like heart or lung disease or diabetes seem to be at higher risk for developing serious complications from COVID-19 illness.”

Although vaccinations are not mandated, we highly encourage attendees to be fully vaccinated and boosted against Covid-19 at least two weeks prior to convention.

​

By attending HNICon, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
